RMS Painting was founded 15 years ago by Rafael Muñoz.

From the colors you select to the projects you want completed. It all says something about who you are and what matters to you. RMS Painting sees that. RMS Painting understands that. We’ve stayed in business as long as we have because our drive comes from helping customers like you turn that vision into reality.

RMS Painting doesn’t take shortcuts. RMS Painting cares about the quality of work. However, most importantly, RMS Painting cares about their customers.

Meet Our Founder

Rafael Muñoz started in the painting industry at the age of 20 in 1991. He worked for various painting organizations all throughout Southern California until a 6 month project brought him to the Bay Area.

He immediately fell in love with all the natural beauty the area had to offer and relocated shortly thereafter.

Before founding RMS Painting, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail like his he would quickly rose up the ranks to foreman and supervisor at the various organizations he was working at. However, the more customers he worked with the more he realized he enjoyed having an active hand in the customer experience journey.

He founded RMS Painting in 2008.

When Rafael isn’t on site, you can find him camping with his family, on the beach reading a book or dancing the night away with his family. He’s been married for 30 joyful years and is a proud father to two university graduate daughters from UC Davis and Sacramento State.

Rafael and team from RMS painting have painted several of our properties and have always delivered exceptional results. When I first found them I had solicited 8-9 bids, but RMS was were very competitive, and they were also licensed and insured, which is a must-have requirement for working on any of our two story properties. RMS Painting has also repaired significant exterior dry-rot on a couple of our jobs in difficult to reach places. I really appreciated that because they were able to make the job easy for me since I didn't have to get a separate contractor involved to replace the dry rot. They make it a very turn-key experience. RMS Painting did an outstanding job painting the exterior of my home. I selected this business based on interviews and quotes from 8 different contractors. This was a major project as my home is almost 4000 square feet and I have high walls. Rafael explained the process of pressure washing, repairing cracks, priming, and finally painting. He was also prepared with the list of different paints and colors to choose from. There were no shortcuts taken and they were very detailed with making sure everything was held to a high standard. I will certainly recommend this business to my family, friends, and neighbors.

I just had my ceiling patched, textured, and painted after a plumbing issue. RMS did such a great job that I could not tell if there ever was any damage or repairs done. His work and quality is flawlesss. I highly recommend this company for all your painting, texture, and patching needs. I have now used RMS on 3 occasions. Excellent work every time
